Shri Ashwani Kumar while taking charge as Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences has stated that the scientific temper needed to be inculcated among more and more students in the country. In a brief media interaction here today, he underlined the need to make the benefits of research available to the masses and particularly to the farmers. He further stated that the research and development in biotechnology must help farmers to get more yield and Meteorological Department must help them to get timely information to get rid of vagaries of drought or situation of heavy rains.

The Minister stressed on the need to work for reverse brain drain and ensure that the best Indian talent gets the right atmosphere to work in the country. “We need to provide them a positive atmosphere and work-place for technical and scientific research”, he further added.
