  • NRDC inks MoA with Andhra Pradesh government to start Agribusiness incubation centers

    The Andhra Pradesh Government through its AP Food Processing Society has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the National Research Development Corporation, an Enterprise of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi (NRDC) to strengthen the agribusiness & food processing sector by establishing Smart Agribusiness Platform Networks of Andhra Pradesh (SAPNAP).  These networks will focus on creation of enabling ecosystem for accelerated growth of agribusiness by involving all the stakeholders.


    SAPNAP will have two key development platforms – Smart Agribusiness Value-chains and Smart Agribusiness Incubators & Accelerators.  Smart Agribusiness Value Chains will focus on Intelligence / Analytics / Big Data, Innovations and Partnerships.   • NRDC Inks Technology Commercialization Agreement for Ayush-82

    National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an Enterprise of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi  and M/s Chaturbhuj Pharmaceutical Co, Haridwar have entered into License Agreement for commercialization of  Ayush-82, an ayurvedic Formulation for management of  Diabetes.  Chairman & Managing Director, Dr. H. Purushotham NRDC said that Ayush-82 was developed by Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), New Delhi, an Autonomous Organisation under the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy). The Licence agreement was signed by Dr. H. Purushotham , CMD , on behalf of National Research Development Corporation, New Delhi and Shri Murari Sharma, Proprietor,  Chaturbhuj Pharmaceutical Co , Haridwar.  National Research Development Corporation has so far licensed 13 Ayurvedic technologies developed by CCRAS to more than 33 companies in India.


  • NRDC Inks MoA with CNMS, Jain University for IPR Protection and Technology Commercialisation

    National Research Development Corporation, an Enterprise of the Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi (NRDC) has entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Centre for Nano and Material Sciences, (CNMS) of Jain University, Karnataka for commercialization of technologies/ intellectual properties developed at CNMS. NRDC shall also provide its services in IP Evaluation/Valuation in terms of their commercial potential.

    Chairman and Managing Director, NRDC Dr. H. Purushotham, and Director CNMS, Jain University Dr. Geetha Balakrishna,, have signed MoA for IP protection and technology commercialisation of their scientific and technological developments. The MoA is valid for a period of 10 years from May, 2016.

    The Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India and the Science and Technology in Society (STS) forum, Japan organized a workshop on Monday to discuss and strengthen ongoing collaboration between the two countries in various research areas. Mechanisms to improve the partnership in the areas of infrastructure, manufacturing and high technology, including solar power generation, space, biotechnology and advanced materials were discussed at the day-long workshop. The role of innovation and research for Prime Minister Modi's 'Smart City' initiative were also discussed.

    Aimed to train the next generation of medical technology innovators in India to develop innovative and affordable medical devices to augment unmet clinical needs of India, an innovative medical device has been developed under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology supported Bio design Programme by M/s. Consure Medical, New Delhi.

    Science & Technology Ministry working on ‘five year rolling plan’ to measure plans & their implementation

    The union government will soon launch a hub and spoke model to set up science cities and science centres to encourage science and technology (S&T) incubators and create an enabling environment, minister of state for science & technology and earth sciences, Mr Y.S. Chowdary said at an ASSOCHAM event held in New Delhi today.

    To popularize Science Education among women the Department of Science and Technology has recently constituted a Standing Committee for Promoting Women in Science vide Office Memorandum dated 11 March 2016 to recommend special measures to ensure growth of women in science and to design programmes specifically for fostering, utilizing and supporting women in science. The first meeting of Standing Committee is scheduled on 16 May 2016 at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Consolidation of University Research for Innovation and Excellence in Women Universities (CURIE) is another unique programme of Department of Science and Technology through which budgetary support is extended for strengthening S&T infrastructure and also to enhance research facilities in women only universities, in order to encourage Science and Technology education among women.
