JNCASR awards Outstanding Science Teacher Prize

Outstanding Science Teacher Prize sponsored by the C. N. R. Rao Education Foundation, for the year 2020 and 2021 were awarded to three teachers by the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST). 

Mr. M Bheemappa, Govt Girls High School, Maski Raichur District, Karnataka and Dr. Ravi Prakash Sharma, Vishnu Inter College, Bariley, UP received the prize for the year 2020 and Mr. Vidyadhar N Yatagiri, Govt High School, Peerapur,  Vijayapur District, Karnataka received the prize for 2021 at the award programme held at the C. N R Rao Hall of Science of the Centre on 30th June 2022.

Special lectures by Prof. S.M. Shivaprasad, Director, Karnataka State Higher Education Academy on ‘Beauty of science and science of beauty’, by Dr. Pratap Vishnoi, DST Ramanujan Fellow, JNCASR and Mr. Vinayak Pattar, Assistant Coordinator, ETU, JNCASR on ‘Learning chemistry with experiments’ as well as by Dr. Jaishri Sanwal Bhatt, DST Women Scientist, JNCASR on ‘Tracing the footprints of long term climate locked in cave deposits’ were organized on the occasion.

About 700 students and 50 teachers from 25 schools from all over the country participated in the event, both online and offline. A musical concert by eminent vocal singer Vidushi Manasi Prasad was arranged in the Centre
