NM-ICPS boosting new and emerging technologies to power national initiatives

The National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS) is transforming ideas, concepts and prototypes into market-ready products and boosting new and emerging technologies to power national initiatives in key areas. The 25 Technology Innovation Hubs (TIH) set up across the country under the mission are bringing about the transformation by actively coordinating, communicating, and facilitating technology transfer to industries.

The 25 Technology Innovation Hubs (TIHs) have been established in reputed institutes across the country in advanced technologies covering areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Cyber security, Data Science, Quantum Technologies and so on. Each hub follows a technology life cycle approach, addressing all stages of technology development namely, knowledge generation-technology development-translation-commercialization. With close collaborations with the startup ecosystem, industrial sectors and governmental organizations, the hubs are bringing out several technological solutions for people-centric problems. Several technologies and technology platforms established under the mission have helped push impact in multiple sectors.

The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India is implementing the NM-ICPS approved by the Union Cabinet in line with aspirations to make India a leading player in CPS technologies. It is a comprehensive mission that creates and nurtures a vibrant ecosystem by establishing a network between academia, industry, Government and International Organizations. The mission focuses on technology development, human resource & skill development, innovation, entrepreneurship & start-up ecosystem and international collaborations.
