Knowledge Involvement in Research Advancement Through Nurturing (KIRAN) – A Ray of Hope for Women Scientists

Shri Y.S. Chowdary, Minister of State for the Ministry of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, in a written reply to a Question in Rajya Sabha today, informed the House that there is steady growth in proposals from the women scientists under Knowledge Involvement in Research Advancement through Nurturing (KIRAN) scheme of the Department of Science & Technology (DST). DST received 689 proposals in 2013-14, 882 proposals in 2014-15 and 1012 proposals in 2015-16 under KIRAN from women scientists.

The number of proposals received and recommended under the scheme during last three years, State-wise are given below: -
