In line with the directions of the Central Vigilance Commission, this year the Deptt. of Science & Technology (DST) observed the Vigilance Awareness Week from 26th Oct – 1st Nov 2021 with great enthusiasm and active participation. Several activities were organized in order to spread this year’s theme – “Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity”.
The week began with the administering of the Integrity Pledge to all officers and staff of Deptt. of Science & Technology as well as the Deptt. of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) by Shri Sunil Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer of Deptt. of Science & Technology. The Vigilance Unit, as in the previous years, has motivated all stakeholders and remaining employees to sign the e-pledge also.
Several activities were organized during the week, pivoted around this year’s theme, such as Essay Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Turncoat Debate Competition, Poster Making Competition and Story Weaving Competition. A Drawing Competition was also organized for the children of DST & DSIR employees.
A workshop on Preventive Vigilance was also organized in DST in which several officers of DST participated.
The week culminated with an impressive closing ceremony attended by Dr Shekhar C Mande, DG, CSIR-cum-Secretary, DSIR and other top officers of DST and DSIR. The Chief Guest was Ms. Chhaya Sharma, Director, CVC, and former DCP (South), Delhi Police, who delivered the keynote address on combating corruption. The ceremony ended with the distribution of prizes and singing of the National Anthem.
