India and Argentina Science & Technology Ministers launched a new India-Argentina call for joint proposals

A delegation from Argentina led by  H.E. Mr. Daniel Filmus, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Argentina met  Hon’ble Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences and discussed ways to re-energize the existing cooperation and utilise the optimum resources & skills to address the common issues of both nations.

Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction with Inter-governmental cooperation to promote technical and scientific cooperation since 1985. The Hon'ble Ministers launched a new call in the areas of Biotechnology and Energy Transition to strengthen and expand relations between both scientific communities as well as promote exchanges between Indian and Argentine research groups, in the framework of joint scientific and technological projects. The said call is open till April 30, 2023. Both parties discussed further opportunities for future collaborations in the areas of e-mobility, clean energy, ocean technologies and biotechnologies.  

Dr. Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India,  Dr. S. Chandrasekhar, Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, MoES,  Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and senior officials from the  Department of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology, and  Council of Scientific and Industrial Research were also present on this occasion. Ms. Silvina García Larraburu, Senator, Mr.  Hugo J. Gobbi, Ambassador of Argentina, Ms. Adriana Serquis, President of the National Commission of Atomic Energy,    Mr. Guillermo Salvatierra, Adviser, Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation and Mr. Gregorio Acerbi Hernández, Head of Political Section of the Embassy of Argentina were part of the delegation from Argentina.   

The delegation also visited the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, before meeting with the Hon'ble Minister of Science and Technology.
